PANTHER PARTNERS WITH EMERGENT BIOSOLUTIONS FOR UPCOMING BALTIMORE GRAND PRIX WEEKEND
Emergent Logo on No. 4 Chevy This Weekend, Company Hosts Hildebrand at Fort Meade Wednesday
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - (August 28, 2012) – Panther Racing announced today that it has partnered with Maryland-based Emergent BioSolutions, a global biopharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures vaccines and therapeutics, on an associate sponsorship agreement for the upcoming Baltimore Grand Prix, the IZOD IndyCar Series event scheduled for this weekend on the downtown streets of Baltimore. This is the second year Panther is partnering with Emergent BioSolutions, who along with the USO of Metropolitan Washington, will be hosting Panther driver JR Hildebrand and the team’s No. 4 National Guard IndyCar at Fort Meade this Wednesday for a visit with the National Guard Soldiers stationed on the base.
“We’re thrilled that Emergent BioSolutions is back as a partner for the Baltimore weekend again this year,” Panther Managing Partner and CEO John Barnes said. “This is obviously a huge race weekend for us with all of our friends in the National Guard coming down from Washington DC, and we’re extremely grateful that Emergent has arranged for us to meet with the Soldiers at Fort Meade on Wednesday and has gone above and beyond to make this a memorable weekend for all of us.”
“For the second year, Emergent BioSolutions proudly teams up with Panther Racing, the National Guard, and the USO, in supporting Baltimore race events for our military, wounded warriors, and veterans,” said Daniel J. Abdun-Nabi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Emergent BioSolutions. “At the heart of our corporate mission – to protect life – is to protect those who serve, and we take this opportunity to thank our servicemen and women for their bravery and service to our country.”
In addition to Wednesday’s event, the company is hosting a live video uplink with Soldiers stationed in Afghanistan during the weekend. Details for the video uplink will be released later this weekend once they’ve been finalized. The Emergent BioSolutions logo will also be on Hildebrand’s IndyCar for the weekend.
“It was a cool introduction for me last year to meet some of the leadership at Emergent and learn more about what they do with vaccines and the advancements they’ve made in preventing and treating diseases,” Hildebrand said. “And, beyond that, I’m excited any time we get the opportunity to interact with the Soldiers, so I appreciate everything that Emergent and USO Metro have done to make the base visit and the live video uplink happen. I know all of us at Panther are looking forward to it.”
